Stardust Story: My First Vendor Market

Stardust Story: My First Vendor Market

Hi, Galactic Star ✨

A few weeks ago, I did my first in‑person market as a vendor, and I wasn’t sure what to expect. What I received instead was a moment of pause: a chance to breathe, reflect, and appreciate how far I’ve come.

These last couple of years have been full of movement: moments of doubt, moments of hope, moments of comparison, moments of chronic pain, and moments where I wasn’t sure what direction I was heading. But this market gave me something I didn’t realize I needed: clarity, connection, and cosmic grounding.

If you’d like to hear my full reflection, you can listen to the video on my YouTube video:

but here, I want to share the heart of what this market taught me.

🌙 Fear, Comparison, and the Made‑to‑Order Spiral🌙

Since starting Galactic Flow in November 2024, I avoided markets because I convinced myself people wouldn’t want made‑to‑order products. I worried:

  • "People want to leave with something in their hands."
  • "My model isn’t good enough."
  • "Everyone else brings handmade inventory… what am I doing wrong?"

I compared myself to creators who spend hours crafting inventory, packaging items, writing handwritten notes, and showing up with tables full of ready‑to‑take‑home pieces.

But this market reminded me of something I forgot:

Made‑to‑order is not a flaw. It is the bridge that allowed Galactic Flow to exist.

When I started, I didn’t have the resources to buy bulk inventory.
I wanted personalization.
I wanted to reduce waste.
I wanted identity‑affirming tools that felt intentional.

Made‑to‑order wasn’t a compromise.
It was the doorway.

And somewhere along the way, through fear, doubt, chronic pain, and navigating endometriosis, I lost sight of that.

⭐ Seven Sales, Seven Reminders⭐

Seven people bought from me at the market.
Seven.

It might not sound huge, but for me, it was deeply impactful.

Between November 2024 and late 2025, I had only three online orders. I was navigating chronic pain, working a job that wasn’t aligned, and dealing with Meta restricting my shop because my products cover gender and sexuality.

So being at that table watching people stop, pick things up, ask questions, laugh, smile, and connect with me meant everything.

I brought a little affirmation jar with handwritten notes, and people loved it. They took affirmations, held them, smiled, and carried them with them. That moment alone brought me joy.

And then there were the conversations:

  • Someone said, “I’m a pibling!”
  • Someone else learned “Moppa” for the first time and lit up.
  • Someone touched a beanie and said, “I’ve never seen neopronouns on a product before.”

Those moments reminded me exactly why I started Galactic Flow:

  • Simple representation.
  • Feeling seen.
  • Feeling uplifted.
  • Feeling celebrated in everyday life.

That’s the heart of this brand.

🌌 What This Market Taught Me🌌

Before I try to redesign everything, switch production companies, or launch new ideas, I need to:

  • Reach more people.
  • Get real feedback.
  • Listen to real humans, not my fears.

Seven people connected with what I already have.
That means something is working.

My next step isn’t to rebuild everything.
It’s to build on what’s already resonating.

🌈 A Moment of Presence and Becoming🌈

This market reminded me to be present.
To share the moment.
To reflect on the moment.
To keep learning and growing.

It reminded me that I don’t need everything figured out before I take a step.
I don’t need certainty before I create.
I don’t need perfection before I show up.

I just need to keep going, one cosmic step at a time.

🌙 A Reminder for You (and Me)🌙

If there’s a dream you’ve been sitting on: small, medium, or cosmic. Let this be your reminder to take one small step forward, and then another, and then another.

I’m rooting for you. 💜

With Cosmic Stardust,

Kassidy
