Starting Galactic Flow: A Journey of Representation and Connection

This week has been a tough one, and like many, I’ve found myself reflecting on how to be present and find ways to move forward in a world that feels crushing. As a Black, queer person navigating these times, it can be overwhelming, but it’s also reminded me that every voice matters, even when it feels small. Galactic Flow is helping me rediscover my purpose and joy, and I hope it inspires you to do the same.

Hey Galactic Star, 🌟

Welcome to the next step in our shared journey together through Galactic Flow! I’m excited to share this space with you, a space where creativity, authenticity, and community thrive like a constellation of infinite possibilities.

If we’re just meeting for the first time, hi, I’m Kassidy (they/them)! I’m a Black, gender nonconforming entrepreneur with a passion for self-expression, representation, and empowering others. With a degree in photography and a minor in entrepreneurship, I’ve always been fascinated by the ways art and business can intersect to tell powerful stories.

Today, I want to share a little about myself and the heart of Galactic Flow, and how it became my inspiration to get back to creating and connecting.

Rediscovering Purpose Through Galactic Flow

I'm a Zennial born in 1998, part of that unique cusp generation where millennial nostalgia meets Gen Z innovation. Growing up, I moved frequently, which taught me adaptability but also left me searching for belonging and connection. As an introvert, forming deep connections was challenging. Social spaces often feel overwhelming, and traditional networking always felt like wearing shoes that didn’t fit.

But there was one constant: creativity. Whether through photography, digital art, or simply dreaming up ideas, creativity became my sanctuary, a way to connect with myself and, eventually, with others.

 

 

As I began to embrace my Black, gender nonconforming identity, I noticed something glaring, I rarely saw people like me in corporate spaces. The intersectionality of being Black, queer, and a creative entrepreneur often felt invisible.

And then it hit me: If the spaces I needed didn’t exist, why not create them myself?

Creativity as Connection

Galactic Flow isn’t just a brand, it’s a movement, a community, and a celebration of individuality. It’s where self-expression meets connection.

Here’s what Galactic Flow is all about:

• A bridge where creativity fosters connection.
• A collective where diverse voices inspire and uplift one another.

Working in corporate America, has often made me feel as if I'm an anomaly, my Blackness and queerness standing out in spaces that weren't built for me. Galactic Flow became my answer to those experiences. It’s a space to amplify underrepresented voices, to celebrate the vibrant diversity of the LGBTQIA+ community, and to remind us all that we deserve to take up space, just as we are.

Why I'm Building the Space I Needed

I’m not here as an expert. I’m here as a learner, creator, and newbie community builder, figuring this all out alongside you. My goal is to combine all the pieces of my journey, photography, art, identity, culture, and mental health into a cohesive, welcoming space where we can grow together.

Through Galactic Flow, I hope to:

• Share my experiences as a Black, gender nonconforming creative navigating intersectionality and entrepreneurship.
• Highlight the importance of mental health and self-care, especially for those of us with marginalized identities.
• Foster a collective where introverts, dreamers, and creatives can connect authentically without feeling overwhelmed.

And let me tell you this: This space is for imperfection. If you’ve ever felt like you’re “not enough” or that you’re not showing up the “right way,” Galactic Flow is here to remind you that you’re enough just as you are.
