A Warm Galactic Welcome

Hi, I'm Kassidy (they/them). I write about gender, intersectionality and my life experiences on my blog and run a small business. 

 

Now before I jump into all the exciting and not so exciting things I plan to talk about in my blogs I want to share a little bit about myself. I'm an army child and I've visited and lived in 18 states in the US. I earned my BA in Photography with a minor in Entrepreneurship at the University of Alabama (Roll Tide)! 

I started my original passion project "Subjection in Society," which was inspired by the UnSlut documentary by Emily Lindin (unslutproject.com). This documentary inspired me to showcase how society places people in boxes based on stereotypes. If you'd like to see my project, you can check it out here.

In 2020, I took a leap of faith and moved to the PNW, and it has been one of the best decisions I've made in my life. I said good-bye to the family car that had gotten me through high school and college (I still miss Athena to this day, she was my gurl).

 

I moved into my first studio apartment and paid more for my parking spot than my actual utility bills 👁️👄👁️. 

 

I began my professional career in Human Resources and I'm still rocking four years later with experience in full-cycle recruiting, compliance, HR operations, and HRIS.

I did the big chop and decided to finally let my natural hair grow. 

 

And I have three high energy nephews who I absolutely love and adore and couldn't be happier to be their pibling/auntie. (I won't be sharing any photos of them but know they are precious.)

As I navigate my own path, I hope to connect with you through shared experiences, laughter, and maybe even a few “aha” moments. I believe that our stories have the power to inspire and empower one another, and I can’t wait to hear yours too!
